This is awful, but since it's been over a month since his birthday, I can't remember what he got. duh! I do remember he got a new board game, but I'll have to ask him when he gets home from school.
We had a birthday dinner for him (which I can't remember what he chose). I really will find my mind again one of these days :)
I do remember taking him for his checkup and he weighs 49 lbs (which is the 15th percentile), so he's still on the small end.
Because it was an odd birthday (turning 9), he got a friend party. He also chose to go to Airborne Trampoline Arena. He invited his entire soccer team and lots of kids from school and his friends. Individually, each of these boys are fantastic and I really like them. But, holy cow, put them in a room all together and I don't think they listened to one thing I said. There were 2 or 3 that were wonderful and were perfectly mannered, but they were so crazy that I didn't get a good group shot of them. They all had a blast jumping and playing though, so that's what matters.
Dane - this is Jack's 3rd cousin and was the best little guy there! So cute!
We had his party the last day Becky & her kids were in town. I think Brooklyn loved jumping on all the trampolines too.
Hannah is nuts!
Thankfully Jon was able to be at this party. He came straight from work. This little guy got really wheezy and he came to me in tears. Jon listened to his lungs and gave him a clean bill of health to continue jumping :)
This was my attempt to have all the kids sit down and let Jack open his gifts. You can see how successful I was..
And just like his grandpa Sorenson, this guy was just happy to be alive!
Things about Jack at age 9:
- loves ALL sports. He plays baseball, soccer & basketball.
- is a huge BYU fan just like his dad. He goes to as many games as he can, although recently, he gets car sick every time he drives home from Provo.
- he's becoming a more and more picky eater. He used to eat anything. Even some of his favorites, he no longer likes. He told me the only dinners he likes eating are steak & lasagna.
- He's really particular about his clothes. They have to fit just right, or it nearly ruins his day.
- he's a good student at school - very obedient and sweet to his teacher. He loves math and hates cursive.
- wants to be a police officer when he grows up
- tolerates his 5 sisters most of the time. He tells me that Hailey is his favorite.
- takes piano & art lessons. Claims to hate both of them, but is actually really good at both.
His best friends are Bowen Davies & Case Elliott.
We love you Jack!!

Jack is a great kid. I can't believe he will be 10 next year. They grow up too fast.
That was fun being there for his birthday kid. Those boys are crazy when you get them all together and you handled it like a champ. And Dane is the BEST kid ever.
I love all of Jack's quirks (like his clothes) because they remind me of myself when I was little - my hair, my underwear, long socks...sheesh I was a weird kid!! I feel Jack's pain on the clothes :)
