Kelly & Karissa's Wedding

A couple of weekends ago, we had family come into town (Jon's parents - Jack & Diane and the Johnston's - Jeff, Beth, Kyle & Tyler). They came for Jon's nephew Kelly's wedding. Unfortunately, Jon had to work during the day, but the rest of us were able to drive up to Logan to see them get married. It was a gorgeous day and both Kelly & Karissa looked great. The Logan Temple is a beautiful Temple.

After their sealing, we took some pictures outside and then all met at Golden Corral for lunch. The kids were so good and then later that evening, we went to their reception in Riverton. That was also gorgeous and fun to be at.

Congrats Kelly & Karissa! You make a great couple!

And since it was a beautiful day, I couldn't turn down the chance to take some candid shots....

It was so sunny and I kept telling the kids to close their eyes and then I'd tell them when to open them. Hannah didn't quite get hers open in this one.

Coach Pitch Baseball 2010

Jack and Lindsey were able to play on the same coach pitch baseball team this summer. It was so nice to have them play together and most of the kids on the team (if not all) were from Longview Elementary. Lindsey's friend Emma's dad coached and our next door neighbor and Emily's friend Hailey's dad helped.

Both kids played great. They were great hitters, runners & fielders. Great season guys!

Sorry about the blur - I took the picture through a chain link fence. This is so Jack - completely focused and intense on the game he is playing.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday

We had a fun time celebrating Hannah's 2nd birthday last week. We started the day by taking her to the doctor for her checkup. She weighs 25 lbs (40th percentile) and is 33" long (also 40th percentile). She's a healthy & happy girl!

That night, we had a birthday dinner for her. We fixed her favorites: grilled chicken, noodles with alfredo sauce & green beans. The kids were so excited to watch her open her gifts - especially Kate. She loves Elmo, so we thought we'd do an Elmo theme.

Hannah with Becky (who just found out yesterday that her baby is a girl!!)

I wanted to try to make a fun cake for her, so when I found an Elmo mold, I decided to use it. It was really fun to make, it took a ton of time, but I thought it turned out cute. Hannah loved looking at it all day and kept saying "cake."

But then, it came time to light it.....

She kept saying "scary" and didn't want a thing to do with it. The other kids blew out the candles for her and then she only wanted icecream to eat. She is such a funny girl.

We love you Hannah!

Willie Walk

On the 24th of July, we were able to participate in our first Willie Walk. Willie is married to my aunt Becky and was an avid runner. He passed away from cancer 12 1/2 years ago. Becky & Willie have 2 sets of twins. When he passed away, they were 5 and 2. He was a teacher and cross country coach for many years - and deeply loved by family, friends & students.

For several years (like 12), an annual 5K Willie Walk/Run has taken place. This was the first year we were able to be there and it was great! My brother Richard, with the help from Becky and her great kids, put it together.

We ran/walked the course that Willie created (often run as the Wahsatch Rendevous) at Cottonwood Complex. Jon ran, I pushed Hannah & Kate in a jogger, and all the other kids ran. It was really fun! We love the Cowden family and the legacy that Willie left. He would be proud of his wife and kids!

Happy 2nd Birthday Hannah!

I can't believe it, but our baby turns 2 today!!! Wow! It is such a joy to have this little one in our family. She's spunky, stubborn, sweet, cuddly, talkative, beautiful, funny & loving! We love you Hannah (even though you usually have a sticky face & sticky hands)!

Living Planet Aquarium

Last week, we decided to take the kids to the Living Planet Aquarium. Jack had visited it on a field trip last year in Kindergarten and said it was a great place. We had a great time! It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but we saw some really fun stuff.

This picture is blurry, but I loved Lindsey's expression as she was trying to touch the sting ray

There were 2 divers in the shark tank and they waved at us through the glass.

We ran into the Fisher's from our ward - this is Lindsey & Grace

Penguin feeding

We loved watching the penguins dive into the water, swim around and then literally leap out of the water.

They had a show where 2 guys showed the kids lots of different rain forest creatures - including snakes, birds & hissing Madagascar cockroaches.

Thanks kids for another fun adventure!
