Halloween Celebrations

Time to catch up on blogging....our computer stopped uploading photos, documents, etc., so hopefully we are up and running now.

We had a great Halloween! Last week we took the kids another 2000 miles in the car and they were fabulous. We started the week in Union, OR visiting Jon's parents (more about that to come). We drove home on Wednesday and attended our ward Halloween carnival. (Jon also put 8 stitches into his nieces hand after she cut it). On Thursday, the kids went to their school/preschool Halloween parties and then the kids and I left for Worland, WY with my family for the rest of the week.

The kids have been good sports about doing themes for Halloween (Wizard of Oz, 5 Little Monkeys, The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf) and despite early protests, we were able to do another one this year. They all dressed up as Alice in Wonderland costumes. Kate had found the Alice costume (Emily was Alice when she was 3) and decided that was what she wanted to be. She told us that she was the "perfect Alice" because she had blonde hair. The rest of the costumes just sort of revolved around that. Hannah was the White Rabbit, Jack was the Mad Hatter, Lindsey was the Queen of Hearts and Emily was the Cheshire Cat.

Thursday morning, we dropped the kids off at school and took Kate to preschool. They paraded down the street and then recited a couple of poems. We just love her preschool teacher Ms. Lorie.

Then I headed to the school for the older kids' parade. They paraded through the school and then had class parties. I stayed for just a few minutes as Hannah was desperately needing a nap and I had 1/2 hour to get the rest of the way packed up.

We had to leave Jon at home because of work, but we were able to go back to Worland for a couple of days. We had a great time - complete with playing in the leaves, all helping to pick fabric for a quilt, pumpkin carving, eating delicious food, playing games (Ticket to Ride Europe, Guesstures & Phase 10), and enjoying each other's company. Becky brought her friend John, and he was the best sport! It was great to have him there and we sure love and appreciate Aunt Claudia and Uncle Bruce!

I LOVE your cute costumes from Alice and Wonderland. You guys are so creative. Such a cute family. Becky and John should have dressed up-they are cute together. Looks like lots of fun.

The kids costumes turned out SOO cute. You are lucky that your kids will do the theme. Mind revolt every year. Worland sounds fun and relaxing.
