On Tuesday morning, we went to breakfast at Aldo's. I remember going to Aldo's when I went to Santa Cruz 20 years ago! It's such delicious food and we sat outside on the dock. Eating out for breakfast is a huge treat for us because we don't do it very often, so that made it extra fun!
Jake - Mr. Cheesy Smile
Can you tell how much fun these 2 had together??!!
Then we walked a little ways down from Aldo's to a lighthouse. Again - absolutely breathtaking and amazing!
After naps that afternoon, we took the kids across the street to the beach. Oh, so much easier! The day before we drove to a stop, attempted to push a stroller across the beach, set up beach umbrellas only to have them nearly blow away from wind and then trying to wash everyone off before driving home. Walking across the street = brilliant!
The kids had fun again, especially digging in the sand. Richard & Annie put their engineering skills right to work and built an incredible sand city - complete with retaining walls. When the tide threatened the village, extra walls were added. So, so fun! Of course, eventually, the water washed it all down.
Sophia was scared to death of the water at first, but as soon as she realized that it was fun, she had no fear and no desire to ever leave!

Jon & Jack set out to dig a huge hole...

At dinner time, we went to Carpo's - another yummy restaurant! Can you tell we ate our hearts out this trip? After dinner, we went to get icecream that was delicious too! What a great day!
