Art Classes
As most of you know, I'm a proud, proud mom! My heart literally skips beats on a daily basis because of my children! I couldn't have asked for better kids and I couldn't be any prouder of them.
Emily and Lindsey have taken art classes from a wonderful woman across the street. Miss Camille (as they call her), is in our ward (she's one of Hannah's nursery leaders) and she teaches art classes in her home. They don't have a specific art teacher at school, so we jumped at the chance to have them take art from Camille. Twice during the school year, they have an art show, so last weekend we were able to go. Her students do amazing work and it just made me that much more grateful for the wonderful neighborhood that we live in.
Here is a sample of their work:

Kindergarten Western Program
Last Friday, the 3 Kindergarten classes at Longview Elementary put on a Western Program. It was super cute and they worked so hard on it. They had cute scenery, had hats & bandanas for all the kids and then they sang about 12 songs. I don't think Jack knew any of them before, so I know they worked really hard to teach them to the kids.
The teachers must have told the kids that they would all be participating in a dance as well. I saw that because I know that Jack would never volunteer for something like that. He was great in his little square dance and when they had him pretending to play a guitar. Oh, he's so cute!

Spring Soccer
Emily, Lindsey & Jack just finished another successful soccer season! All three of them had great coaches, great teams and had a lot of fun.
Emily played for the same coach (at our request) that she had for the fall season. He's so positive with the girls and they had a great season - undefeated! Emily always worked hard and scored several goals over the season - including 3 in one game! She is considering trying out for Murray Max, which is the competitive soccer league in Murray. She really wants to and we are trying to decide if we could handle the busy-ness that would bring into our lives.
Lindsey also had a great season. She really focused on defense. She was very mindful on the field about playing defense and usually when she was in, the other team wasn't able to score. She has a good sense of when to drop back to guard the goal (in her league - they don't use goalies). She's a tough player and also enjoyed scoring several goals.

Mother's Day
The day after Rich & Misty's wedding was Mother's Day. It was a beautiful spring day and we had a good day. I think Hannah woke up extra early (like 6:00 a.m.) and Jon was at work all day, but that night, we had my grandma, aunt, parents, siblings & cousins over for dinner. Jon had bought some yummy steak while I was in Ohio, so we grilled that and had a really nice evening.

A spring/summer evening just wouldn't be complete with swinging the kids in the air. Mike & Becky let the kids take turns swinging ....

And my mom - always a kid at heart!
I have such a great mom and love her so much! We have really enjoyed this last year we've had to spend a lot of time with my parents. They are just 1 month away from leaving for 3 years to Russia and we're just soaking up every minute we can. Thanks mom for always being a best friend!!

P.S. Jon, being the sweet husband that he is, felt bad that I didn't get breakfast in bed, etc. on Mother's Day, so the kids and he took me out to dinner the next day at Texas Roadhouse. Yummy! I love being a mom!

Richard & Misty's wedding - ring ceremony & reception
After taking pictures at the Temple, we drove to my parent's house for a quick 20 minute break and then drove to "This is the Place" State Park, where Rich & Misty's had a ring ceremony & their reception. It was a gorgeous place to have it and we all had a wonderful time. Prior to the ceremony, we took lots of pictures:
Our family - except for Jack & Jon
Our family - except for Jack & Jon
5 Sorenson siblings
The Sorenson in-laws (minus Jon)
Candy & Mike
This picture isn't great because everyone is looking at a different camera, but I love my mom's look. She was also relaxed and had a great time enjoying this day.
My 2 cousins - Meg & Tyler
Mike & Corinne
Peter & Hannah - Hannah was kind of solemn all day
Kate & Becky
Mike, Lindsey & John
Hannah & her poppa
Meg & Richard
The ring ceremony was in a little chapel and was performed by my dad. He did a great job and it was fun to see them exchange rings.
There was a train that was available throughout the evening and the kids had a great time riding it. (You'll notice Mike up in the front red car).
After the ring ceremony, we enjoyed their reception in Smoot Hall. It was beautiful. I always love being able to visit with so many friends and family. We love them all so much and our lives are better because of each of them!
The yummy desserts
The food was out of this world! The salsa was the best salsa that I've ever had!

Cutting the cake
There wasn't much room - so sorry about the real photographer in the picture too!
