Anne & Dave's Sealing

The day before Mother's Day, Jon's sister Anne and her husband were sealed in the Provo Temple.  It was a windy, little bit chilly day, but such a beautiful day for them.   Jon & I were able to drive down with Diane (Jon's mom who had come into town).  Jon slept the whole way because he had just come off an overnight.

We loved being there!  I am so grateful for Temples and that families are sealed there for eternity!

You can tell how windy it was from the umbrella

Spring 2014 Dance Show

A couple of Saturdays ago, Lindsey, Kate & Hannah had their annual spring dance show.   I look forward to these days, but they are always so busy & long - but so worth it!   There was a total of 4 shows (2 for Kate & Hannah and then 2 for Lindsey)

In Kate's show, she danced in two numbers because she took a Jazz class in addition to the ballet/tap class.  She loves dance and was spectacular!  It was kind of fun to hurry and change her costume & hair for her second dance.

Kate's jazz number was first - she's on the far left

Then she quickly changed (while her class was already lining up backstage) and did her tap number.  This was Sweet Caroline by David Archuleta and such a great song for them to dance to.

Several dances later, it was Hannah's ballet number.   They danced to Que Sera Sera and were darling!

I love this picture - it's the final pose of the dance and rather then looking at the audience, these two were looking at each other with a look like "We did it! "

We had our wonderful family come to the last show of Hannah & Kate's and the first show of Lindsey's.   Bless them!

This is Lindsey's wonderful friend, Olivia.  Olivia & Lindsey loved taking dance together and often hustled to dance right after their soccer practices.

Lindsey was great too!   She actually tried out for the highest level of jazz dance and made it!  She's really excited and I know she'll be great!

Well done girls!

Arbor Day poster winner

One of the traditions on our city of Murray, Utah is an arbor day celebration!  Prior to this day, they have all the Elementary schools participate in a poster contest.  This is all done at school so that parents/friends/siblings can't help the students.   Each grade from each school selects a winner and that winner is honored at the Arbor Day celebration.

Kate won for the 2nd grade at Longview!   Jon's mom and sister Rebecca came into town the night before and so we were all able to check Kate out of school and go to this celebration.   They fed  us a BBQ lunch and then had a nice program.

Way to go Kate!

The guy on the left is our Mayor, Ted Eyre.  And the guy at the microphone was our former mayor, Mayor Dan Snarr.   He has that long, awful mustache that goes out really far.  He was trying for a Guiness Record for the longest mustache of an elected official, but I don't know if he ever got it.

Easter Basket Hunt - Bowen style

On Easter Sunday, we invited both sides of our family over for dinner.   Jon smoked some pork and we asked everyone else to bring a side or a dessert.

After dinner, we filled the kid's Easter baskets with more candy and then gave them to the dads to "hide."   True to form, the newest members of the family have their baskets hidden in the hardest places.   This year, that was Dawson!   Dawson is David & Sandy's little boy.   So, his basket was put at the top of the light pole.

The kids had a blast running around and finding their baskets and all the hidden hard-boiled eggs in the yard.

All the kids trying to figure out how to get Dawson's basket down for him.   It ended up crazing to the ground - which made us all laugh!

This is Ainzli.   She is the cutest little thing.  She's Jon's niece's daughter and just a doll.

As usual, we LOVED having my parents back after being gone for 3 Easters.

This was my attempt to gather all the kids for a picture...I think I got about half of them.
