This year was my 5th annual Witches Party and it was one of my favorites!!!
I seriously LOVE this party! I start getting ready for it the year before (thinking of ideas), I start & make the quilt for the give-away in June, and then put final prep into it in September & October.
I was especially excited this year to have my mom back! I've missed having her there! The only glitch this year was having Jon at work. We literally barricaded my kids and Becky's kids in the basement. They did really well though.
These are the darling invitations that Kelsi made:
The theme this year was: FAVORITES!
Instead of having the ladies bring a decorated witches hat, they brought 4 of something that was their favorite thing. Then, each went home with 4 different things that were people's favorites. I did this at last year's Ohio women's retreat and it was a blast! It was super fun at this party too and everyone brought such fun things!
I didn't get very many pictures - mostly of the house before the party even started, but I loved how it turned out...
The party favors - EASY!
It was a little test tube from Michael's, filled with Halloween colored Sixlets. The sticker on it says "Witches Potion Pills"
And this was the quilt! I especially loved the Chevron minkee on the back!
Punch bowl cauldron
Bread bowls
The menu was:
Chicken Noodle Soup
Roasted Corn Chowder
Chili
green salad
fresh pineapple & cantaloupe
Dessert:
sugar cookies (made by Whitney White)
pumpkin crumble
These 2 cute girls totally helped me pull this off. They came early (after I spent the afternoon at a soccer game), picked up pizza for the kids, and helped me finish preparing all the food.
Jon's brother, Tom, was back in town from Alaska in time to put cobwebs on the house again. It's definitely a favorite for me and he did not disappoint! It makes the house so festive for Halloween!
The winner of this year's quilt was Meg!!!!
It was great because she actually was in Worland this summer when I made it - so she saw the whole process! I was so glad she won it!
This was what I made for my "favorite" thing. I love my witches party and I love quilting - so it combined both!
Yay for another successful Witches Party!
