The day after Christmas, we drove to Oregon to spend several days with Jon's parents. The kids were great in the car and only needed 1 stop in the 530 miles!! Jon's oldest brother Bob and his wife Debbie and 2 of their boys (Kelly & Tyler), as well as Jon's youngest brother, Tom were already there. They had been working hard for several days putting in window seats and new closets into three bedrooms. They finished the night we got there and did a good job!
We spent Sunday at Church and then enjoying one another's company. On Monday, Jon and Tom took the 4 oldest kids sledding and were gone about 3 hours. They had a blast and only Jon sustained an injury - a big scrap to the head when he was trying to slow Jack down and ended up slipping on ice right before Jack got to him.
The kids loved putting a gingerbread train together (a wonderful gift from the Cowden's!), painting with water colors, watching movies, playing Ticket to Ride (we taught several people how to play), eating delicious hamburgers from Cove Drive-in and just being with family.
Our drive home was a little more strenuous and we had some slick roads, but it only took an hour and a half longer than usual, so that wasn't too bad. We love you Grandma & Grandpa Bowen and Aunt Rebecca!

I love that picture of Hannah! I can't believe how fast she is growing up. Glad Jon was able to stop Jack with his head :)

Looks like you had fun! Hannah is so cute in those pictures.
the picture of the kids with grandpa is soooo priceless...it totally brought tears to my eyes...these people (our parents) in our lives are so precious to us and the simple things they teach our children are the memories our children will forever remember...
