Piano Recital

Emily and Lindsey have been taking piano lessons from a wonderful friend, Andrea Jeppesen. Andrea has patiently helped them learn and enjoy playing the piano. The girls were always so happy and excited to go to lessons and were great about practicing each day. They have really learned a lot and done well - thanks to Andrea. Andrea put together a recital the other night and it was wonderful. We met an auditorium at a local music store and listened to some beautiful music from kids in our ward. Emily played "The Entertainer" and Lindsey played "Circus March." They had worked hard and did great! Andrea presented each student with an award and a cute gold medal (a ding dong wrapped in gold foil attached to a ribbon). She also had delicious sugar cookies for everyone!
Andrea has a darling little boy, Jonas, and is expecting her second little boy any day, so she is taking a break from teaching for now. Andrea - thank you so much for your time, talent and patience! We will always remember you and wish you the best as you embark on your new adventures!!

We'll be moving at the very end of June or beginning of July. Any trips to Utah or Ohio in the making?

Oh, you're too nice. I have loved teaching your Emily and Lindsey. They were so incredibly prepared for every lesson that it made my job really fun and rewarding. Thanks for being such a wonderful family.

Hey Jeannette. Got any practical advice on getting the kids to practice consistently? Had to have another "discussion" with my older kids again. And, as they say in the business, "quitting is NOT an option!"

Wish we could've been there. Give our love and congrats to the girls.

Hey Bliss - (I think that is so funny Ashlie). You know, I sit down next to them at the piano and help them learn the notes correctly. It seems to be working (although I'll admit that I've literally thrown sheet music out the front door before). I also tell them that practicing the piano is just part of earning an allowance ($1 per week).
